Kia ora everyone,

Over the last couple of weeks, we have been touching base with our members, I have been so encouraged with how you all are making the best of this time. I have been amazed at your strength, even when a number of you are struggling, whether that be financially or emotionally; you are holding your whānau together through this.

As we are now in level 3 in the lockdown status, I just want to acknowledge ANZAC Day last Saturday. We, as many of you, were doing things differently this year and it was nice to be able to spend more time as a whānau preparing for this very special memorial to our fallen heroes and past soldiers who sacrificed so much for our country.

It was particularly poignant given the current situation and the things that our tamariki are having to sacrifice in order to keep the health of our country paramount.

As these following words were meaningful to all over a hundred years ago, I believe they apply to us all today:

Kia kaha,
Kia māia,
Kia manawanui
Be strong, be brave, be steadfast

Stephanie
