Regional Committee Volunteers needed

We are keen to hear from anyone who is interested in being part of our Regional Committee team in 2026. This is a volunteer role for up to 2 years at a time. We are currently on the lookout for volunteers living in South Auckland (anywhere between Manukau to Te Kauwhata) and the Waikato.

It’s a great opportunity to meet a range of people caregiving in your local area and support the work of Caring Families Aotearoa in helping caregivers feel less alone in their caregiving journey, and more appreciated and connected through caregiver events during the year.

If you can give a couple of hours each month (maybe a few more leading up to an event) and are keen to bring your positive energy and awesome ideas to the committee’s event planning and event hosting, Christie McGiven, our Central North Regional Coordinator would love to hear from you to chat more about this role.

Email: centralnorth@caringfamilies.org.nz or call Christie on Mobile: 027 501 0393

Support Group Liaisons needed

We are looking for interested members to become Support Group Liaisions to ensure connection and support in the regions through the organising of our monthly Support Groups. We have several opportunities in;

  • Whangarei
  • Kaikohe
  • North Shore, Auckland
  • Central Auckland
  • West Auckland
  • South Auckland
  • Hamilton
  • Wairarapa

These Support Groups usually happen once a month for a couple of hours and become a key source of social and peer support for our members.

The liaison role will involve:

  • Being the key contact/liaison person for caregivers wanting to know more about support group meetings.
  • Hosting each meeting – making sure the meeting place is organised and refreshments provided (we’ll help with the $ if there is a cost).
  • Linking caregiver members with their Regional Coordinator if they need ongoing support.
  • Being a friendly, non-judgemental face to welcome people who may not know much about Caring Families Aotearoa.
  • Promoting the group in your local community – e.g. sharing our information/brochures at the nearby school or community centre.
