Ngā mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa (Warm acknowledgements/greetings)

Dennis and I spent five days in Tāhuna (Queenstown) in early March to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  What a treat!

What have you done to celebrate your household achievements over the last few months?  Remember to acknowledge success and appreciate struggle– that’s how we grow.

Training

School holidays are 13-28 April so there are fewer trainings in the schedule for April, but May will get busy so keep your eyes peeled for our term two training schedule which will go live during the school holidays. When it is live, you can check this link to find something that adds to your kete mātauranga (knowledge kit).

Events

Caring Families Aotearoa hosted two Foster Care Awareness Week events in Whangārei at the beginning of March. We treated 25 caregivers to dine out for lunch with good food and great company. Thanks to all who attended and celebrated another year of caregiving!

Support

  • We’ll be having our monthly caregiver support group in my office (16a Finlayson Street, Whangārei) on Monday 8 April 10.30am-12 noon, if you’d like to drop by. Please text to let me know you’re coming – 027 566 0294. Let’s have a therapeutic cuppa and an empathetic biscuit together (quotable quote from Nyvonne Krause)!
  • I also hold a meeting for families living with FASD on the last Thursday of every month (25 April + 30 May, 10.00am-11.30am) in my office (16a Finlayson Street, Whangārei); please let me know you’re coming by texting me on 027 566 0294.
  • If you’d like to hold a group in your rohe/area please contact me on the above number, I’d love to help you set one up!

Mā te wā (bye for now)
