Kia ora koutou katoa,

Woohoo, March is my favourite month of the year as it’s my birthday month. What makes it extra special is my beautiful little granddaughter who shares my birthday, so there is another reason to celebrate. This month we would normally celebrate Foster Care Awareness week with some morning teas and events around the rohe / area, but because of “you know what” we have had to adapt. Caring Families Aotearoa is fortunate enough to have Sarah Naish speak exclusively to our members for Foster Care Awareness week! If you haven’t heard of Sarah I suggest you google her name and check her out. Sarah is the founder of the National Association of Therapeutic Parents. She has written loads of books around therapeutic parenting and speaks from experience as she is an adoptive mum. If you have the time, click here to register to hear her speak with Caring Families Aotearoa on Wednesday 9 March.

Training is well underway. We are now delivering our new ‘Making Changes, Stability in Hard Times’ workshops. This training offers a little twist on how we normally do things, but I think you will appreciate the difference. Click here to register for either online or in-person training.

Also, a reminder about the monthly online support groups, again, click here to register. We’ve had a few smaller groups form from these monthly groups, so if you think you might like to meet other caregivers from around our beautiful country, join us for a laugh and chat. We meet on the first Tuesday of the month.

Last but not least, if you enjoy social media, we have two closed Facebook groups in our area. The Waikato / Hauraki group and the Auckland South group. See below for the details to join one of these groups.

Whatever your status / belief / situation, I hope you are safe and well and feeling supported in the enormously difficult task you have as a caregiver.

Kia kaha, Kia ora katoa. / Be strong, be well.
