Kia ora koutou katoa,

Christmas is next month!? I feel like my mother when I say, “Where has the time gone?”.

Lockdowns have certainly tested our resilience if not our patience. As we speed towards Christmas, there is apprehension before making plans with loved ones as no one can guarantee if any restrictions may be in place. As a caregiver, I’d always been a bit of a girl scout by having a backup plan. The unpredictability of our children requires us to have a plan B, should things decide to go sideways. However, today we also need a plan C and D! This can be trying for the most organised caregiver and I understand that our kids are not always forgiving when things change at the last minute.

Remember to BE KIND to yourself. Like the prayer says, “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change”. As caregivers, we try to do everything, but sometimes we just can’t … and that’s okay. Take some time to look after yourself, fill your cup and find your happiness. With the chaos of Christmas around the corner now is a good time to get into a routine of caring for yourself as well.

Family Fun Days

Due to the ever-changing COVID-19 levels, the Family Fun Day events in your town may have changed. Please make sure you check the details on your ticket or look at our website for the most up to date information.

We still have tickets available for our events in Henderson, Thames and Hamilton.   Please register as you will be given a ticket to attend or a voucher to redeem at a later date if your event is cancelled.

Kia kaha, kia hauora, me kia atawhai. Me tiaki, noho pai.
Be strong, be healthy, and be kind.
