Kia ora koutou,
Here we are again! Covid-19 lockdown. Take care everyone, in this isolation period. Stay safe, stay home, and let’s unite to eradicate this virus. My thoughts go out to all of you who are at home with your families, whether working or not, these times can be tough for some and for others a blessing.
Please don’t forget self-care during this time. It is very important to ensure your cup is full, so you are able to fill others’ cups. Have a nice hot bath, a hot drink, and a chocolate biscuit or two or whatever it is that gives you a sense of joy.

The many caregivers I have managed to make contact with are doing a great job of providing extra scaffolding around their children, providing security through understanding and continuity in their day-to-day care. There are some however that are feeling the struggle, facing challenges, and are already over this lockdown. These times that challenge us only make us stronger and as the post I shared on our Facebook page more or less states, “We don’t have all the answers, but we learn and grow as we go”. Keep this in mind when times get tough and remember to show acceptance and empathy when needed.
Stay in touch with others if you can by phone or video chat. Reach out to your fellow caregivers, support is so important. Have some fun and relax!
Unfortunately, we’ve had to postpone upcoming trainings due to the current COVID-19 lockdown. All face-to-face trainings have been cancelled for the remainder of this term and will commence next term when it is once again safe to meet. Our national office team will update you with training details as they come to hand. In the meantime, we have an online learning series called Ako Ngātahi – Learning Together. These are only an hour once a month and have day and evening options available. I recommend that you join in! The next one is on 21 September.
If you have any questions about training, require assistance registering or wish to register by phone please contact:
