Well, it feels like winter is beginning to set in, and with it, the potential for cabin fever.

Check out this link below for some fun activities for the kids to do inside:

As the continuing part of my induction, I recently attended some great training on our practice and support framework. DDP (Dyadic Developmental Practice) is a great caregiving approach and I encourage you all, when you get the opportunity, to look into attending our therapeutic training. I’ve heard that it has been transformational to homes and whānau.

New training opportunities will roll out for next term, I am very excited. The focus of this training is parenting in a different way with children and young people that have experienced developmental trauma.

Training

Some training dates to keep in mind for this term:

  • Identity and Belonging is on 11 June in Wairoa
  • Keeping Memories is on 25 June in Gisborne

We also have some online trainings available. Click the button below to find out more and register.

We are currently in the planning stage for organising some caregiver events in Gisborne, Wairoa and Hawkes Bay – so watch this space. I look forward to seeing you there.

Noho ora mai e whānau manaaki mā / Stay well, caring families,

Nā Sarah
