Kia Ora Koutou,

“Kaua e wareware, he ra ano apopo”

“Don’t forget tomorrow is another day”

Hopefully, over the school holidays, you had time to breathe and take some time for yourself. It has been great having time to speak to members and to get to know a little more about you. I am constantly amazed by what incredible caregivers you are and how much everyone has going on.

I had to travel by plane recently and the emergency talk each time on the plane is around putting your own mask on first, otherwise you could pass out before successfully putting the other persons on. This always reminds me of self-care, how we cannot give out of an empty bucket.

This month we celebrate Mother’s Day. To all our mums who share their hearts with our children in care, can I say a very heartfelt “THANK YOU”.  You are truly amazing women who give so much and ask for so little in return. I hope you know how precious you are.

Our training calendar is now live and waiting for you to register. In addition to our face-to-face workshops, Caring Families Aotearoa is offering new opportunities to participate online. Click on the link below and take advantage of the flexible days and times for these workshops.

If you are struggling with any issues and need a listening ear, support, or more formal advocacy, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Noho ora mai e whānau manaaki mā / Stay well, caring families,

Nā Sarah
