Kia ora everyone,

You’ll have noticed it’s lighter in the mornings and it’s getting darker later in the evenings. Yes, Spring is upon us. I hope you’re managing to get your tamariki (children) to bed with the changes. Daylight Savings bring! It can be a tough time for all of our bodies to adjust.

Daylight saving has its positives and negatives. I love the hope that comes with kōanga (Spring) and the chance to return to nature – hono ki te taiao. My whānau and I are looking forward to more outside time and getting motivated to head into the garden and see the lovely colours of spring all around us.

I do hope over the school holidays and beyond you can find some time to nurture some personal seedlings of your own and find joy in spring moments around you – sometimes, that is all we can do in lieu of a bigger or better break, and it can be in these small moments of peace and solitude that our fractious nerves can be soothed.

A little note from Kerri

Since starting with Caring Families Aotearoa I have grown in my understanding of the Care Sector, so thank you all for being part of that journey for me. But, it is with mixed emotions that I let you all know that my journey with Caring Families Aotearoa will cease for now in the second week of the school holidays. I have been enticed by the establishment of a new social worker role with Oranga Tamariki.  This new position will allow me to apply my previous family violence professional knowledge. I have so enjoyed the many conversations we have had, mostly over the phone.  Stephanie, Rob and the team are here for you all should you need some support.

Kia kaha kia maia kia manawanui – Thanks for being strong, steadfast and willing.
