Ngā mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa / Warm greetings to you all,

As my time as the Otago Regional Coordinator finishes and I am sorting out my office (its amazing what I have found!), it is an opportunity to reflect on my time, meeting and working with some amazing people.  It is truly incredible what you do; how you open your homes and hearts to tamariki in need.  I feel privileged to have heard your stories and to help in a small way where I could.

We are also coming to the end of 2020, which will be a relief to many.  It has been challenging, and although we are fortunate to be in our part of the world, the impacts of Covid and other events on our tamariki, our whānau, our communities and ourselves will continue to be felt.  On a positive note, this time has really emphasised how important relationships and connecting with others is.

Thank you to the many people who have supported me in this role, helped me to understand the issues and challenges and connected me with others.  I will still be around in the Otago region, so please say “Hi” and let me know how things are going.  I hope you have an enjoyable Christmas period and get some well deserved rest.

Please check out our training schedule as we’re doing more online courses for people who can’t get to a physical place, but can connect virtually in your homes.

Ngā mihi o te Kirihimete me te Tau Hau ki a koutou / Best wishes for Christmas and New Year to you all!
