VOYCE National Conference: Caregiver support
VOYCE Whakarongo Mai is excited to host their very first national conference, Kōkiri – The Future Speaks, 16–17 March at Tākina, Wellington. 🎉
VOYCE is an NGO created to advocate for the rights, needs and wellbeing of care-experienced young people. Kōkiri – The Future Speaks, brings together care-experienced rangatahi (young people), caregivers, whānau, kaimahi, providers, and both government and non‑government organisations to connect, learn, and wānanga (discuss) future-focused solutions for the care system in Aotearoa.
If the young person in your care is under the age of 18 and would like to attend, they must be accompanied by a support person. Attending an event like this can also feel a bit daunting for some rangatahi over the age of 18. To help make the experience more supportive, VOYCE is offering a special caregiver rate. ❤️
- Our caregiver members can register as a support person, accompanying their rangatahi, for $100.00, (as well as the young person registration of $100.00), ensuring your young person doesn’t have to attend alone. Please email youthparticipation@voyce.org.nz.
- Caregivers requiring funding support to accompany rangatahi under the age of 18 (or rangatahi 18+ that require a support person): email youthparticipation@voyce.org.nz with details of all attendees and travel/accommodation requirements to apply for complimentary registration.
- If you require financial help for your young person to attend on their own, please email youthparticipation@voyce.org.nz, or, on the registration page you can also select; “I am a care experienced young person (under 25) and I require funding support to attend the conference.’

If you wish to attend the conference alone (without a young person in your care), you will need to register as “an attendee or group” for $450.
