Ngā mihi mahana ki ngā Matua whangai i tēnei marama (Warm greetings to all Caregivers this month).

Wow, fourth month already…time flies when you’re?…well time just flies!!  I’ve had some intensive contact with a few caregivers so far this year and what a privilege to be able to tuku tautoko (offer support) and even better to get desired results.  Your role can be isolating and lonely…it doesn’t have to be, so please reach out if this is how you feel.

EVENTS

Children’s Day

Thanks to all who supported Children’s Day (a full on, free fun and food event, in collaboration with 30+ groups) and our

Whangārei Coffee Club for Foster Care Awareness Week.

Thanks, Caring Families Aotearoa for supporting the coffee and muffin for the caregivers.  Our next Kaikohe Coffee Club is scheduled for Friday 28 April, the first for this year due to the busyness of the beautiful Art Gallery staff.  See you there for kai me kōrero (food and conversation).

A Kaitaia coffee morning is almost ready to confirm the date thanks to a dedicated caregiver who is helping to organise this. Please support us when the pānui/notice arrives- soon!

TRAINING

School holidays take up half of this month so no training is scheduled for me in April, but there will be training in early May, and we will communicate this after Easter.

SUPPORT

I work Monday and Tuesday 8.30am – 3.30pm, and Wednesday, 8.30 – 4.00pm. At times I’m out of the office for training and support so text before you come. But I always love to see you in my space or I am here for a chat on the phone – 027 566 0294.

Don’t forget another great place to get support is our private closed Facebook group. This group is only open to our caregiver members, so you have the freedom to air your thoughts without judgement. Everyone in the group gets what you’re going through.  Click below to join.
