CEO Message September 2025

Kia ora
It’s hard to believe September is here already – a time to celebrate Dads, daylight savings, warmer Spring weather and school holidays!
With Father’s Day coming up this Sunday, I’d like to sincerely thank all caregiving Dads for your kindness, patience, understanding and flexibility. You are an important role model to the tamariki in your care – and while your love and support can’t be measured, I can assure you it is making a massive difference to their development and outlook on life.
Your guidance has an influence on their social skills, their ability to regulate their emotions and even their performance at school. They may not call you Dad, but please don’t doubt for a second that you matter. I hope you have an extra special Father’s Day this year.
We know Father’s Day can also trigger some strong feelings among our tamariki in care. You may like to talk about Father’s Day coming up as a family this week, touch on the meaning behind it and remember your PACEful parenting as these feelings arise.
Have you tried our self-directed training yet? We’re releasing new courses every month on the new training platform – I encourage you to take a look and give one a go, even as a refresher to ensure therapeutic parenting stays top of mind. Click here for more.
Noho ora mai (stay well, look after yourselves, goodbye)
Linda
